Dismissal Plan

At Elmonica, student safety and efficiency guide our dismissal procedures. We ask all families to follow the outlined expectations to ensure a smooth and secure end to the school day.

🕒 Dismissal Times

• 3:00 p.m. – Bus riders, daycare van riders, and independent walkers are dismissed directly from their classrooms when buses or vans arrive.

• 3:00 p.m. – Family number gate walkers are dismissed.

• 3:10 p.m. – Vehicle pick-up using the School House Driveline begins. Students walk to the cafeteria to wait for their family number to be called.

Dismissal by Mode

🚍 Bus & Daycare Van

• Staff escort bus riders and daycare van riders to the front bus loop.

• Students are dismissed directly from classrooms as their transportation arrives.

• Please communicate all daycare arrangements in advance.

🚶‍♀️ Independent Walkers

• Students who walk home independently are released from classrooms at 3:00 p.m.

• Families are encouraged to review safe walking routes and reinforce crossing safety with their child.

🏷️ Gate Pick-Up with Family Number

Students in Grades K–5 who are walking home with a caregiver or sibling will exit through designated gates.

Important: Caregivers must show their Family Number Card to a staff member at the gate.
If you do not have your card, you will be directed to the office for identity verification.

👨‍👩‍👧 Siblings & Custom Arrangements

Families who need older siblings (e.g., a 4th grader) to meet a younger child (e.g., a 1st grader) at a specific gate must notify the school in advance to create a custom dismissal plan. Without this arrangement on file, students will be dismissed using the standard grade-level procedure.

🚗 Vehicle Pick-Up: School House Driveline (Begins at 3:10 p.m.)

Elmonica uses a Family Number system for safe and efficient vehicle pick-up. Follow the steps below:

✅ What To Do

1. Display your Family Number Card clearly on the dashboard or passenger visor.

2. Enter the center parking lot lane and follow staff instructions.

3. Pull forward as far as possible to allow multiple cars to load at once.

4. Students will wait in the cafeteria and be called when your number is displayed.

⚠️ Important Reminders

• Students exit from the passenger side only for safety.

• Remain in your vehicle at all times.

• Be patient and courteous to staff and other families.

• Without a Family Number Card, caregivers will be asked to park and go to the school office with ID for verification.

💡 Safety First

Please help us keep all students safe:

• Follow posted speed limits.

• Avoid U-turns near the school.

• Do not block driveways or park in crosswalks.

• Turn off your vehicle engine if waiting in place (idle-free zone).

• Always stop for crossing guards.
